TV on the Radio is an American art rock group formed in 2001 in Brooklyn, New York, whose songs span numerous diverse genres, from post-punk to electro and free jazz to soul songs. The band has given us several EPs which included their debut Young Liars (2003), and four critically acclaimed studio albums: Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes (2004), Return to Cookie Mountain (2006), Dear Science (2008), and Nine Types of Light (2011). TV on the Radio is composed of Tunde Adebimpe (vocals/loops), David Andrew Sitek (guitars/keyboards/loops) and Kyp Malone (vocals/guitars/bass/loops); along with Jaleel Bunton (drums/vocals/loops/guitars) and Gerard Smith (bass/keyboards), who have been official members of the band since Dear Science. Other contributors have included David Bowie (vocals), Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs (guitar), Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead (vocals), Martin Perna of Antibalas (saxophones, flute) and Katrina Ford of Celebration (vox).
